The waiting game

So it's been 11 days since Ryan left and still not 1 single letter. It's hard waiting and wondering what's going on and if everything is okay. I'm sure he's fine but still....I miss him dearly and wish his letters would hurry up!

There's no money right now to go out and do anything. Not even to drive to the park or to a friend's house. Originally the tax refund was scheduled to come tomorrow but now it's saying the 27th. Bleh. I'm bored out of my mind and missing my sweetheart! :(

Starting something new...

Greetings! I have decided to start a blog now that Ryan has left for basic training. I think it will be a fun and good way to document my feelings throughout this process.

Ryan is a member of the US Army Reserves. He joined in November 2009. I couldn't be more proud of him. He is such an amazing man, husband, and father. We have been through some really rough times these past 18 months but we are determined to pull through.

April 11th Hannah and I said goodbye. Hannah didn't quite get what was going on of course. She just thought, "oh okay Daddy's going to work. Bye Daddy I love you!" I, however, knew fully and of course was a mess the entire day. Not only am I an emotional person in general...but I'm also pregnant. So I'm sure you can imagine how hysterical I was after our last hug and kiss.

That night Hannah had a very very hard time. She didn't understand why Daddy never came home from work. She woke up 7 times that night crying for Daddy. This made everything so so much harder for me. I didn't know how to explain to her that Daddy was going to be gone for a very long time...but that it was a GOOD thing.

Ryan got to get on facebook at the airport for a few minutes on April 12th before his flight. It was nice to get to chat with him just a little more before communication would be sparse.

As the week went on, Hannah got better. She tells everyone her Daddy is away working in the Army. I told her about Daddy going on an airplane and somehow she's confused that into Daddy's on a helicopter...fighting dinosaurs. Haha. Sure, that's fine. Whatever keeps ya smilin' kiddo. :)

April 18th I got my first phone call. I was at Home Depot trying to find a part to put up our new ceiling fan. He could only talk for 1 minute but it was the best minute all week. It was amazing to hear his voice. He said he was doing well and having fun and that he loves and misses us very much. He also told me he's written me 2 letters so far and planned to write another that night.

As of today, the 21st, I still haven't received any letters but I'm sure they'll be here soon. I can't wait to hear from him again!!
